Big Bank Stocks Hit Records Ahead of Fed Meeting

Shares of large U.S. banks outperformed the market on Wednesday, with some hitting records, as investors awaited the first Federal Open Market Committee meeting of Kevin Warsh’s Fed chairmanship. Investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley also rallied and hit records, according to FactSet and Dow Jones Market Data. Traders widely expect the Fed will keep the benchmark federal-funds rate target unchanged at a range of 3.50% to 3.75%.
