Dow closes at record on Mideast optimism; SpaceX, AMD drag Nasdaq

STORY: U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday, with the Dow adding about half a percent to notch another record high close, the S&P 500 slipping marginally and the tech-heavy Nasdaq dropping more than eight-tenths of a percent.The Nasdaq saw its first decline in five sessions as AMD fell 7% and SpaceX stumbled nearly 14% following the release of its quarterly earnings.SpaceX shares could face additional pressure from the expiration of the stock's post-IPO lock-up period starting on Thursday, said Shana Orczyk Sissel, founder and CEO of Banríon Capital Management."There will likely be a lot of folks looking to sell their positions that they've held for a long time, to monetize their investment, which they've had for a while since the company was private.
