Nasdaq Nearly Flat in Afternoon Trading, Gets Boost From Chip Bounce

Chip stocks are on the rise in what's been a volatile trading day and they're helping offset Nasdaq losses. The Nasdaq is down slightly, but has pared back deeper losses seen earlier in the session. The PHLX Semiconductor Index is up 1.8%, bouncing back from a 0.7% decline earlier.
