Stocks rise as inflation cools the Fed, but the chip rout keeps the rally honest

Wall Street was given another cool inflation print, and for the second day running the market loosened its collar. Stocks edged higher, Treasuries rallied, the dollar slipped, and traders continued removing near-term Federal Reserve tightening from the price.
